I’m running because working families in Northern Indiana aren’t getting a fair shake. In Congress, I’ll put my decades of financial experience to work for Hoosier families.

COVID-19 has changed America. Now more than ever, we need leaders with a proven track record to develop innovative solutions to our most complicated problems.

I am the common sense, progressive policy wonk and civil rights advocate whose 28-year career as an attorney structuring global financial transactions makes me the ideal person to represent you in Congress.

I will bring my in-depth knowledge of the global economy, financial markets, and financial regulation to fight for everyone. I will work to develop sound fiscal, health care, and environmental policies that treat every American - cashiers, nurses, teachers, construction workers, doctors, gig-economy workers, artists, mid-level professionals, everyone, even lawyers - fairly and compassionately.

I’m running because no person should be forced  to choose between taking their child to the doctor and keeping food on the table.

In 2006, after six weeks in the NICU, we brought our new-born son, Caleb, home from the hospital - as well as $600,000 in bills. We never got to bring our daughter, Verity, home.

I was 28-1/2 weeks pregnant with twins, and I was dying of preeclampsia. I remember thinking—seriously—about whether dying would give my twins a better shot. After 6-1/2 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, we only brought one twin home.

Instead of spending time with my newborn son, I spent hours every day fighting over those bills with my insurance company, the hospital, and debt collection agents. I’m a lawyer. I make a living winning those fights, and I was fortunate enough to have my firm’s HR team supporting me. Even still, the battles were exhausting. I would say to my husband, “How do people without law degrees deal with health insurance companies? How do they survive this?”

Alex would respond, “They don’t.”

I’m running because in Congress, I’m going to have those fights every day, for each and every person in Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District.

When you vote for me, you are voting to have that lawyer and a fellow parent - on your side.
